High School Memorial Men’s Tennis – Player of the Week Max Loen, Luther College Jr., Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial Loen guided the way to victory for the Luther College Norse this week in the A-R-C AQ Tournament, recording a 1-0 singles record and 2-0 doubles record with Luke Westholder. On Thursday evening versus Wartburg in the semifinal round, Loen / Westholder defeated Lucas Huffman / Cade Davis, 8-1. Loen would not have to compete in the semifinals in singles as the win was clinched at No. 4-singles with Marvin Kuehnelt. In the championship match versus Coe, the doubles duo was looking to bounce back after dropping to Jordan Oaks / Graham Peterson in their regular season matchup. Loen / Westholder left no doubts with an 8-3 win. The junior clinched a berth to the NCAA Tournament for the Norse when he took down Graham Peterson 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2-doubles. The Norse are 18-7 overall and 8-0 in conference play as they head into the NCAA Tournament. The Eau Claire, Wisconsin native is collecting his fourth-career Men’s Tennis Player of the Week honor (4/11/22, 5/2/22, 2/27/23, 5/1/23).
