Kendra Cooper Award Female Athlete of the Week Week Of 4/10/2023 Sport American Rivers Conference School Luther College Year Position Pitcher Hometown Lansing, Iowa High School Kee Female Athlete of the Week – Softball – Pitcher of the Week Kendra Cooper, Luther College 5th Year, RHP, Lansing, Iowa/Kee Cooper and the No. 24-ranked Luther College Norse went 2-0 during the week to kick of their 2023 conference schedule. Cooper threw the first no hitter of her career and was a walk away from a perfect game in the Norse’s 7-0 win over Buena Vista University. The fifth-year pitcher struck out a career-high 16 batters in a complete game effort, including 10 in a row from the third to fifth inning. Cooper improved to 11-2 on the season and tossed her 10th complete game of 2023. Additionally, Cooper pitched her sixth shutout of the year and has allowed just one earned run in her last seven starts. The No. 24 Luther Norse improved to 21-3 overall and started conference play 2-0. Cooper is a two-time All-Conference performer. The fifth-year from Lansing is garnering her eighth-career Pitcher of the Week recognition (4/10/23, 3/27/23, 3/6/23, 5/17/21, 5/3/21, 3/8/21, 3/1/21, 3/2/20). Additionally, this is the second time this season she has earned Female Athlete of the Week honors (4/10/23, 3/6/23).
