Alexis Ehlers Award Position Player of the Week Week Of 4/10/2023 Sport Softball School Simpson College Year Sophomore Position Hometown Bryant, Iowa High School Northeast Goose Lake Softball – Position Player of the Week Alexis Ehlers, Simpson College So., INF, Bryant, Iowa/Northeast Goose Lake Ehlers and the RV-Simpson College Storm went 2-4 during the week, including a 1-3 mark in league play. Ehlers batted .550 over the six games for the Storm, including recording a hit in nine straight plate appearances. The sophomore hit three home runs and drove in eight RBIs, scoring four runs herself. Game 1: NWU 8, Simpson 7 – 1-for-3 (.333), R, 2B, BB Game 2: Simpson 13, NWU 6 – 1-for-4 (.250), R, 3 RBI, HR, HBP Game 3: Simpson 3, Grinnell 2 – 3-for-3 (1.000), R, 2 RBI, HR Game 4: Grinnell 10, Simpson 8 – 4-for-4 (1.000), R, 3 RBI, HR, 4 assists Game 5: No.21 Coe 6, Simpson 1 – 2-for-3 (.667), 2 putouts, 2 assists Game 6: No.21 Coe 4, Simpson 1 – 0-for-3 (.000), putout, 3 assists Along with her outstanding performance at the plate, Ehlers made a spectacular diving catch near the left field line in the loss to Coe. The Bryant native is now batting .444 with six home runs and 26 RBIs on the season. The RV-Storm are now 18-8 overall and have a 1-3 mark in A-R-C play. This is the first time Ehlers is earning Position Player of the Week honor in her career.
