Mike Jasa Award Male Athlete of the Week Week Of 4/3/2023 Sport American Rivers Conference School Loras College Year Senior Position Sprints/Hurdles Hometown Fairfax, Iowa High School Prairie Male Athlete of the Week – Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Track Performer of the Week Mike Jasa, Loras College Sr., Fairfax, Iowa/Prairie Jasa competed at the Texas Relays and the Texas State Bobcat Invitational this past weekend. The senior opened his outdoor season competing among Division I fields. At the Texas Relays, Jasa was a member of the 4x400-meter relay squad that ran a time of 3:15.81 to put themselves No. 1 in Division III this season. On Sunday, Jasa traveled over to Texas State to compete in the 800-meter run where he collected a first-place finish out of 26 competitors. Jasa set a new conference all-time record, finishing the 800 in 1:48.46. This time ranks No. 1 in Division III this season and is a new school record as well. The Fairfax, Iowa native is picking up his third-career Outdoor Track Performer of the Week honors (4/3/23, 5/9/22, 4/19/21). Additionally, Jasa has earned Indoor Track performer of the Week honors seven times in his career (1/16/23, 2/7/22, 1/31/22, 12/13/21, 2/8/21, 2/3/20, 12/19/19).
