Derik Bunten Award Field Performer of the Week (Men) Week Of 4/3/2023 Sport Outdoor Track & Field School Loras College Year Junior Position Sprints/Jumps Hometown Cedar Rapids, Iowa High School Cedar Rapids Jefferson Men’s Outdoor Track & Field – Field Performer of the Week Derik Bunten, Loras College Jr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson Bunten competed at the Texas Relays and the Texas State Bobcat Invitational this past weekend. The junior started the weekend posting a mark of 7.14 meters in the long jump and was a member of the 4x100-meter relay team that finished in 42.23 at the Texas Relays. At the Texas State Bobcat Invitational, Bunten posted a new school record in the long jump (which had stood since 1975), recording a mark of 7.47 meters. This mark ranks No. 2 in NCAA Division III this season. The Cedar Rapids native is taking home his first-career Outdoor Field Performer of the Week accolade.
