Ethan O'Donnell Award Male Athlete of the Week Week Of 3/27/2023 Sport American Rivers Conference School Coe College Year Sophomore Position Hometown North Liberty, Iowa High School Liberty Male Athlete of the Week – Baseball – Pitcher of the Week Ethan O’Donnell, Coe College So., RHP, North Liberty, Iowa/Liberty O’Donnell cruised to his second win of the season on Saturday afternoon, turning in a dominant effort as Coe College defeated Central College 12-0 to secure the series victory. The sophomore from North Liberty dropped his season ERA to .93 after tossing a seven-inning, complete-game shutout against the Dutch. O’Donnell was flawless in the opening four innings, retiring the first 12 Dutch hitters in order. Central finally recorded their first hit in the fifth, putting pressure on the righty with two base-knocks but O’Donnell kept his shutout in-tact with back-to-back strikeouts. He finished the game allowing just three hits and one hit batter while striking out six Central hitter. O’Donnell’s season ERA of .93 ranks tied for 19th in NCAA Division III and first in the A-R-C. Coe improved to 10-5 overall and started conference play with a 2-1 record. The North Liberty native is picking up his first Pitcher of the Week accolade in his career.
