High School Edina Men’s Tennis – Player of the Week Luke Westholder, Luther College So., Edina, Minn./Edina Westholder and Luther were in action over the last week where the Norse went 5-1 on their spring break trip in Orlando, Florida. Over the last week, Luther faced Hobart (1-8), Huntingdon (9-0), St. Lawrence (5-4), Hope (9-0), Goucher (9-0), and UW-Eau Claire (5-4). Versus Hobart, Westholder lost 6-0, 3-6, 10-3 at No. 1 singles to Sean Pesin. In No. 1 doubles, Westholder teamed up with Max Loen to defeat Pesin and Jett Wright 8-2. The sophomore against St. Lawrence downed Nathan Turtledove 6-4, 7-5 in singles. In doubles, Westholder and Loen defeated Turtledove and Ben Moolman 8-5. Westholder picked up his second win at No. 1 singles over Hope’s Jacob Burkett 6-2, 6-2. Westholder and Loen took down Burkett and Coates Cameron 8-5 at No. 1 doubles. In his final match on the week, Westholder defeated Demetri Bush of UW-Eau Claire 6-1, 6-2. Pairing up again in doubles with Loen they took down Kole Kolinski and Hunter Roseth 8-3. Westholder finished the week with a 3-1 record at No. 1 singles and a perfect 4-0 record at No. 1 doubles with Loen. The Norse improved their record to 8-6 overall and will begin conference play this week when they travel to Dubuque on Wednesday. The Edina, Minnesota native is collecting his third-career Men’s Tennis Player of the Week honor (9/26/22, 2/20/23, 3/27/23).
