Spencer Moon Award Male Athlete of the Week Week Of 2/27/2023 Sport American Rivers Conference School Simpson College Year Junior Position Hometown Lake City, Iowa High School South Central Callhoun Co-Male Athlete of the Week – Men’s Indoor Track & Field – Track Performer of the Week Spencer Moon, Simpson College Jr., Lake City, Iowa/South Central Calhoun Simpson and Moon competed at the 2023 A-R-C Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted at Buena Vista University over the weekend where Moon was named Track Most Valuable Performer. Moon finished atop the podium in two events at the championship. The Lake City native earned his first gold medal of the championship after he crossed the finish line the fastest in the 5,000m run, with a time of 14:52.62. The junior broke the facility record in the 3,000m run, with a time of 8:19.11. The Lake City native is picking up his first Indoor Track Performer of the Week honor. Moon has picked up Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honors once previously (9/6/21).
