High School DeLaSalle Institute Co-Female Athletes of the Week – Women’s Indoor Track & Field – Track Performer of the Week Marion Edwards, Loras College Sr., Chicago, Ill./DeLaSalle Institute The No. 4-ranked Loras College Duhawks won their second straight A-R-C Indoor Track & Field Championship this past weekend and Edwards was named the Women’s Track Most Valuable Performer. Edwards claimed two first place finishes and two second place finishes at the championship. She claimed her first title in the 200m dash, with a time of 25.34. Her second gold medal game in the 4x400m relay, which secured the team championship for Loras, as her relay totaled a time of 3:52.85. A second-place finish on the podium came in the 60m dash, with a 7.60 time. Running the 400m in 57.25 completed her championship with another All-Conference honor. Loras will be on the track again at two last chance qualifiers at UW-Platteville and Wartburg this weekend leading up to the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championships that will take place in Birmingham, Alabama on March 10-11. The Chicago, Illinois native is earning her fifth-career Women’s Indoor Track Performer of the Week honor (2/27/23, 2/20/23, 1/30/23, 1/17/22, 12/13/21) in addition to earning the honor twice as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team (2/13/23, 2/14/22).
