Kevin Kretz Award Male Athlete of the Week Week Of 2/20/2023 Sport American Rivers Conference School Luther College Year Sophomore Position Freestyle Hometown Fairfield, Iowa High School Ottumwa Co-Male Athletes of the Week – Men’s Swimming & Diving – Swimmer of the Week Kevin Kretz, Luther College So., Fairfield, Iowa/Ottumwa Kretz and the Luther College Norse competed at the A-R-C Swimming & Diving Championships this past weekend. Kretz was named all-conference in three individual events, taking home gold in the 50-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, and the 100-yard freestyle. The sophomore also was a member of four all-conference relay teams: 200-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard medley relay, 200-yard medley relay, and the 800-yard freestyle relay. The Luther College Norse crowned the conference title, posting a team score of 652. This is the second time the Fairfield, Iowa native has earned Performer of the Week (2/20/23, 11/14/22) and first time earning Men’s Athlete of the Week.
