TJ Schnurr Award Player of the Week Week Of 2/20/2023 Sport Men's Basketball School Coe College Year Junior Position Forward Hometown Algona, Iowa High School Bishop-Garrigan Catholic Men’s Basketball – Player of the Week TJ Schnurr, Coe College Jr., F, Algona, Iowa/Bishop-Garrigan Catholic Schnurr led the Coe College Kohawks to two important wins over Wartburg and Nebraska Wesleyan this week. The junior had the game-winning dunk over the Knights to put the Kohawks in a position to still make the conference tournament. Schnurr totaled 19 points while shooting 62% from the field, 50% from behind the arc, and 100% from the line, going 1-for-1. He additionally grabbed eight rebounds and one steal in the victory. On Saturday, in a must win game for the Kohawks, Schnurr came up big again adding 17 points, five rebounds, two assists, and one steal. The junior forward accounted for 36 points, 15 rebounds, two steals, two assists, and one blocked shot on the week. Coe finished the regular season with a 13-12 overall record and 7-9 A-R-C record. The Kohawks snuck into the conference tournament as the No. 6-seed and will travel to Lincoln, Nebraska on Tuesday evening to face off against Nebraska Wesleyan. The Algona native is earning his first Player of the Week honor in his career.
