Joshua Van Gorp Award Player of the Week Week Of 12/19/2022 Sport Men's Basketball School Central College Year Junior Position Hometown Pella, Iowa High School Pella Christian Men’s Basketball – Player of the Week Joshua Van Gorp, Central College Jr., C, Pella, Iowa/Pella Christian Van Gorp helped the Central College Dutch to a 70-58 victory over Cornell College to bring their win streak to five in a row. The junior center recorded his fifth career double-double and second this season. Van Gorp scored 26 points and added 11 rebounds in the victory over the Rams on Saturday. In 31 minutes played, the Pella native shot 45% from the field and was 2-for-2 on his free throws. The Central Dutch improved to 8-3 overall and remain a perfect 3-0 in league play heading into the new year. Van Gorp is a 2021-22 Honorable Mention performer. This is the Pella native’s second Player of the Week accolade of his career (12/5/22, 12/19/22).
