Central defeated Nebraska Wesleyan 73-67 on the road and pre-season favorites Dubuque 68-58 at home in P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium. The junior center averaged 23.5 points and 9.5 rebounds. Van Gorp went 22-31 (71%) from the field. Van Gorp led the Dutch to their first win over the Spartans since 2018. He recorded 23 points and 13 rebounds. He recorded 24 points and 6 rebounds in the win over Nebraska Wesleyan. Putting up a whopping 80% from the field (12-15). Additionally, Van Gorp recorded four blocked shots.
