High School Mesquite Football – Defensive Player of the Week Brayden Daly, Luther College Fr., LB, Gilbert, Ariz./Mesquite Daly led the Luther College Norse in tackles in their 33-23 victory over Simpson College. The victory on Saturday was the team’s first win since 2019. The freshman linebacker totaled 12 tackles, five of which were solo, and had a hand in 1.5 tackles for loss. Daly forced a fumble that was recovered for a 51-yard game-clinching touchdown. The Norse improved to 1-4 on the season and 1-2 in A-R-C action. The Gilbert, Arizona native is collecting his first-career Defensive Player of the Week honor.
