Zweifel, a junior wide receiver, broke Iowa Conference single-game records for receptions and receiving yards with a 20-catch, 330-yard, 3-touchdown performance in a 36-33 Dubuque win at Simpson. He broke records held by Dubuque’s Matt Plummer (18 receptions vs. Buena Vista, Oct. 12, 1996) and Simpson’s Jim Henderson (276 yards vs. Wartburg, Nov. 4, 1967). His longest catch of the day was a 46-yard touchdown strike with 16 seconds left in the first half to give the Spartans a 16-13 halftime edge. His 330 yards is the most in Division III this season, surpassing the 295 receiving yards put up by Randolph-Macon’s Earl Peoples against Washington & Lee Oct. 3.
