High School Riverdale Softball – Pitcher of the Week Ashlyn Hemm, Loras College Fr., P, Port Byron, Ill./Riverdale The No. 23-ranked Duhawks started off conference play 2-0 after defeating the Simpson Storm in a doubleheader. Loras’ freshman pitcher earned a complete game victory in the first game of the doubleheader and came in at relief in the second game. Hemm allowed just her fourth run of the season on a two-run homer, while collecting 14 strikeouts over the two games. The Loras’ freshman improved to 12-0 in the circle for the Duhawks. Game 1: Simpson 2, Loras 3 – W (11-0), GS, CG, 7.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 10 K, .143 BAA Game 2: Simpson 3, Loras 4 – W (12-0), 3.0 IP, 2 H, 4 K, .182 BAA, 11 batters faced The Duhawks improved to 15-1 overall and 2-0 in league play. The Port Byron native is picking up her fourth Pitcher of the week honor this season (4/4/22, 3/21/22, 3/15/22, 2/28/22).
