High School River Valley Wrestling – Wrestler of the Week Shane Liegel, Loras College Jr., 184lbs., Spring Green, Wis./River Valley No. 4 Loras Duhawks went 3-0 on the week at the Gator ‘Boots’ Duals in Nashville. The junior also went 3-0 on the weekend adding three more pins to his name and improved to 14-0 on the season. No. 1 ranked at 184 lbs., Liegel pinned Skyler Cowgill of Wilmington College in 22 seconds. Against No. 16 UW-Eau Claire, he pinned Chase Melton at the 1:13 mark as Loras defeated the Blugolds 36-3. In his third match of the day, Liegel pinned Devontay Moore of Manchester University in 50 seconds. The No. 4 Duhawks moved to 6-0 on the season overall and 1-0 in the conference. Liegel is a two-time All-Conference honoree and was named Co-MVP in 2020-21. The Spring Green, Wisconsin native is collecting his fourth-career Wrestler of the Week accolade (12/20/21, 12/6/21, 11/22/21, 11/25/19).
