He recorded five wins on the weekend while collecting two pins against Ethan Shedbalker (Harper College) and Alexandros Alexiades (Concordia University-Wisconsin). The junior had a tech fall over Andrew Hesse (Joliet Junior College) and decision over Maguire Pecci (University of Chicago). To win the bracket, the No. 1-ranked junior defeated No.2-ranked Jarritt Shinhoster (7-4) from UW-Whitewater. Liegel is a two-time All-Conference honoree and was named Co-MVP in 2020-21. The Spring Green, Wisconsin native is collecting his second-career Wrestler of the Week accolade (11/22/21, 11/25/19).
