Lucas Huffman Award Player of the Week Week Of 3/29/2021 Sport Men's Tennis School Wartburg College Year Junior Position Hometown Marion, Iowa High School Linn-Mar Men’s Tennis – Player of the Week Lucas Huffman, Wartburg College Jr., Marion, Iowa/Linn-Mar Huffman continues his strong showing this season as he once again stole the show for the Knights, going 3-0 at No. 1 singles, propelling the Wartburg to a 3-0 weekend sweep. Wartburg defeated Simpson (6-3), St. Ambrose (8-1), and Cornell (7-2) in their dominant week. In the sole A-R-C match of the weekend, Huffman defeated Simpson’s Reade Reiter 6-0, 6-1. In the two non-conference matches, the junior defeated St. Ambrose’s Jack Schieferdecker (6-1, 6-1) and Cornell’s Federico Polidori (6-1, 6-1). The junior and his doubles partner, Jackson Eells, went 3-0 at No. 1 doubles on the week. The Linn-Mar prep has played at the No. 1 spot every match this season and now has a 12-4 record, while also holding an 11-5 doubles record. Huffman is collecting his third Player of the Week honors for the Knights on the season and the fifth of his career (3/29/21, 3/8/21, 2/22/21, 3/18/19, 2/18/19).
