High School West Carroll Football – Special Teams Player of the Week Justin Appel, Loras College Sr., OL, Thomson, Ill./West Carroll Appel forced a fumble on a kickoff return in the first quarter of the Duhawks’ season opener against Northwestern (Minn.) on Saturday evening. Loras would recover the fumble and set themselves up in scoring position, converting the turnover for a touchdown to take the 14-6 lead. The Duhawks would not look back after that, routing the Eagles 61-13 to begin the season. This marks the senior’s first-career Special Teams of the Week honor.
