Vanessa Eniola Award Female Athlete of the Week Week Of 2/15/2021 Sport American Rivers Conference School University of Dubuque Year Junior Position Guard Hometown Marion, Iowa High School Washington Female Athlete of the Week – Women’s Basketball – Player of the Week Vanessa Eniola, University of Dubuque Jr., Guard, Marion, Iowa/Cedar Rapids Washington In the Spartans lone game last week, Eniola provided a team-high 18 points off the bench in the 69-67 victory over Luther College in Decorah. The junior hit the game winning 3-point shot with ten seconds remaining in the contest, while also collecting seven rebounds for the Spartans. The Dubuque victory extends their win streak to four as they sit at 4-1 in American Rivers Conference play. The Spartans currently sit second in the A-R-C standings under the direction of first-year head coach Justin Smith. Eniola is the first Spartan to earn Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors since Abigail Zurcher on Nov. 11, 2019. This marks Eniola’s first career Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honor.
