Burns, a junior, picked up the second fall individual medalist effort of her career with her one-stroke victory at the UW-Eau Claire Fall Invitational. She shot 79-78—157 to lead the 140-golfer field. Her second round score of 78 was the lowest posted on the par-73 Wild Ridge course. She helped lead No. 12 Wartburg (647) to a runner-up team finish behind No. 3 Gustavus Adolphus College (646) in a strong regional and national field that included five teams that placed in the top-13 at the 2008 NCAA Championships (Gustavus Adolphus – 6th, St. Thomas – 7th, Wartburg – 10th, UW-Stevens Point – 12th, UW-Eau Claire – 13th). She was also one of two golfers in the field (UW-Whitewater’s Chelsea Davis) to post two sub-80 scores. (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
