Conor Riordan Award Player of the Week Week Of 2/24/2020 Sport Men's Basketball School Simpson College Year Senior Position Guard Hometown Ankeny, Iowa High School Ankeny Male Athlete of the Week – Men’s Basketball – Player of the Week Conor Riordan, Simpson College Sr., G, Ankeny, Iowa/Ankeny Simpson went 2-0 last week to secure a spot in the A-R-C Tournament for the fifth consecutive season, defeating sixth-ranked Nebraska Wesleyan (86-59) and Buena Vista (85-72). The Storm will enter this year’s A-R-C tournament as the No. 5 seed. Riordan averaged 22 points on the week, along with five assists. The senior scored his 500th point of the season in the win over Buena Vista Saturday night. In the upset win over No. 6 Nebraska Wesleyan, Riordan dropped 23 points and collected seven rebounds to hand the Prairie Wolves their first conference loss in 20 contests. In the must-win game for the Storm against the Beavers, Riordan scored 21 points along with five assists to clinch a spot in the tournament. This is Riordan’s second career Player of the Week award, both coming this season (2/24/20, 11/25/19).
