Petkovich becomes the first player to receive Defensive MVP honors for the Dutch. Former Central standout, Brett McKenzie earned MVP accolades in 2010, prior to the league splitting the award to honor a defensive and offensive player. This year’s All-Conference selection marks the second consecutive honor for Petkovich. He also picked up honorable mention recognition in 2017.
The Littleton, Colo. native helped the Central defense post the second-best goals-against average in league play (.730) and the second fewest goals allowed (6). Additionally, he added one goal and one assist in eight conference matches.
