Nina Schiro Award Performer of the Week (Women) Week Of 11/25/2019 Sport Women's Swim/Dive School Loras College Year Freshman Position Hometown New Glarus, Wisconsin High School New Glarus Women’s Swimming & Diving – Performer of the Week Nina Schiro, Loras College Fr., New Glarus, Wis./New Glarus Guided the Duhawks to a win over Simpson (113-64) last Friday. She swam a season-best time of 59.23 in the 100-yard freestyle, winning the event. The freshman also would win the 200-freestyle with a time of 2:00.04. In the meet with Grinnell on Saturday, Schiro won the 200-yard freestyle (2:07.54). The New Glarus, Wis. Native would also swim the final leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay and won it with a time of 1:44.76. She held second place finishes in the 1,000-yard freestyle (12:24.05 – Simpson) and 500-yard freestyle (5:52.20 – Grinnell). This is Schiro’s second Performer of the Week honor in her freshman campaign (11/25/19, 10/21/19).
