Victoria Roethler Award Defensive Player of the Week Week Of 11/4/2019 Sport Women's Soccer School University of Dubuque Year Junior Position Hometown Cedar Rapids, Iowa High School Jefferson Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player of the Week Victoria Roethler, University of Dubuque Jr., GK, Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson Roethler guided the Spartans to a 2-0 win over Coe end the regular season and give UD the No.3 seed in this year’s conference tournament. The Spartans turned around and played the Kohawks in the first round of the A-R-C tournament, coming away with a 1-0 victory. The junior keeper played solid in the net during the first-round win, picking up a save on Coe’s lone shot on goal. The Cedar Rapids Jefferson prep collected two shutouts, helping Spartans reach the A-R-C tournament semifinals. She finished tied for second with two shutouts during A-R-C conference play. This marks Roethler’s third career Defensive Player of the Week honor (11/4/19, 9/2/18, 10/8/17).
