Kate Luers Award Offensive Player of the Week Week Of 9/9/2019 Sport Women's Soccer School Wartburg College Year Sophomore Position Hometown Middletown, Iowa High School Danville Female Athlete of the Week – Women’s Soccer – Offensive Player of the Week Kate Luers, Wartburg College So., F, Middletown, Iowa/Danville Sophomore forward Kate Luers helped Wartburg to a pair of wins last week, defeating Augsburg 6-2 and Saint Benedict 4-1. The victories moved Wartburg to 4-0, the best start to a season since 2004. Luers became the first Knight since 2017 to record a hat trick, scoring three versus Augsburg. She then added two goals and an assist versus St. Ben's, totaling 11 points on the week. This is Luers’ first Offensive Player of the Week award and the first for the Knights since Oct. 22, 2018 (Hailey Osburn).
