Wartburg College junior defender Zoey Campbell (Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell Rock) was named 2018 American Rivers Conference Defensive MVP. Campbell was part of a defensive unit that finished conference play ranked number-two in goals-against average at .759. The Wartburg backline allowed a conference-best four goals in eight games. In 19 total contests this season, Wartburg ranks 99th in NCAA Division III with a goals-against average of .924. This is the first all-conference team appearance for Campbell after earning honorable mention accolades the past two years. Campbell is the first Wartburg Defensive MVP since the conference split the award to honor an offensive and defensive player. The Knights have had one player named Offensive MVP and four overall MVPs. The Knight's recently received news that they were selected as an at-large bid to the 2018 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship. Wartburg will face No.23-ranked UW-La Crosse.
