High School Aurora Male Athlete of the Week – Men’s Golf – Golfer of the Week Alex Kubik, Nebraska Wesleyan University So., Aurora, Neb./Aurora Kubik picked up medalist honors at the 2019 A-R-C Championships and helped NWU repeat as conference champions. Heading into the final two rounds, Kubik held a one stroke lead after shooting a round-one, plus-1, 72 at Finkbine Golf Course one week earlier. After round-two, also schedule for Finkbine, was cancelled, Kubik shot a round-three even par (72) on his home course, Hillcrest Country Club in Lincoln, Nebraska. On the final day of play he went two over par (74) and picked up his first Conference Tournament medalist honors, winning by four strokes. With the tournament victory, the Prairie Wolves also earned the league’s automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships May 14-17 at Keene Trace Golf Club, Nicholasville, Kentucky. Kubik is earning his second-straight Golfer of the Week accolade (5/6/19, 4/29/19).
