High School Men’s Track & Field – Field Performer of the Week Blaze Murfin, University of Dubuque Grad., Dallas City, Ill./Illini West Murfin competed at the Drake Relays in the shot put, discus and hammer throw. Against Division I competition he finished 11th in the shot (17.47m/57-3.75), eighth in the discus (53.01/173-11) and 12th in the hammer with a school record throw of 58.62m/192-4. Murfin owns the second-best shot put mark in NCAA Division III this season (18.11m), the third-best discuss toss (53.01m) and ranks 11th in the hammer throw (58.62m). This is Murfin’s eighth Outdoor Field Performer of the Week honor of his career (4/29/19, 4/8/19, 5/13/18, 4/15/18, 5/7/17, 4/23/17, 5/16/16, 4/4/16). Murfin was the Most Outstanding Field Performer at the 2018 Outdoor Conference Championships and received the same honor at the 2019 A-R-C indoor championship several weeks back.
