High School Rockridge Softball – Position Player of the Week Daria Parchert, Central College So., SS, Illinois City, Ill./Rockridge In championship-deciding wins over No. 13 Luther, Parchert had four hits, including three doubles, drove in three runs and ended a rally with an unassisted double play. Started three double plays for the week while errorless at shortstop. Central’s first doubleheader sweep of Luther since 2013. First conference title since 2013, first outright crown since 2009. Central will host this weekend’s A-R-C tournament as the No.1 seed. Parchert also had game-winning 2-run home run in 6th inning in 4-3 win at Loras. The sophomore shortstop finished the week’s six game stretch with a batting average of .563 (9-of-16), 6-RBI, 6-runs, 4-doubles, 1-home run, 4-stolen bases, 13-putouts, 17-assists and 0-errors. Central was a perfect 6-for-6 on the week with sweeps over Monmouth, Loras and No.13 Luther. This is Parchert’s first Position Player of the Week honor.
