TJ Johnson Award Male Athlete of the Week Week Of 4/15/2019 Sport American Rivers Conference School Coe College Year Sophomore Position Hometown Cedar Rapids, Iowa High School Prairie Male Athlete of the Week – Baseball – Position Player of the Week TJ Johnson, Coe College So., SS, Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Prairie Johnson excelled at the plate and on the mound for Coe as they went a perfect 4-0 on the week. The sophomore batted .533 (8-for-15) with a home run and two doubles, drove in three runs and scored four. He came in relief of three games, saved two, allowed only two hits and did not give up a run. On April 9 Johnson helped Coe complete the sweep of Dubuque with an 8-3 home win. Over the weekend Coe swept Buena Vista by scores of 4-0, 7-6 and 2-1. Coe is now 24-2 overall and 14-1 in American Rivers Conference play. In the American Baseball Coaches Association poll released April 9, Coe was ranked 18th. This is Johnson’s first Position Player of the Week accolade.
