High School Glenbard East Co-Male Athlete of the Week - Men’s Indoor Track & Field – Track Performer of the Week Patrick Mikel, Loras College Jr., Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East Mikel picked up his first indoor Most Valuable Tracker Performer honor after a record setting 2019 Championships He recorded 29 points for second-place Loras, picking up conference titles in the 200-meter (22.01), 400-meter (47.93) and running the anchor leg of the winning 4x400 (3:20.34) relay. The Duhawk 4x400 relay team now owns the conference meet record, besting the previous record of 3:21.51 by Simpson in 2017. He finished fourth in the 60-meter (7.07) dash and was on the third-place 4x200 (1:29.93) relay. His performance in the 400-meter set a new conference meet record and broke his own all-time conference record. Mikel owns NCAA Division III’s top time in the 400 meter this season at 47.93 (47.18 converted). Mikel claimed the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field national title in the 400m. This is Mikel’s fifth Indoor Track Performer of the Week award (2/25/19, 2/18/19, 1/28/19, 12/10/18, 2/4/18).
