Murfin earned conference titles in the shot put (17.53m) and weight throw (18.96m). He is now a two-time champion in the weight throw (2018, 2019) and a three-time champion in the shot put (2016, 2017, 2019). A season ago Murfin took 3rd in both the shot put and weight throw at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships. Murfin is earning his 10th Indoor Track & Field – Field Performer of the Week accolade (2/25/19, 2/18/19, 1/28/19, 1/21/19, 12/10/18, 2/25/18, 2/11/18, 1/19/17, 1/22/17, 2/8/16).
