After surrendering a first period takedown, Everson had a monster second. Fifth-ranked Everson rode Rathbun the entire second period and picked up four near-fall points. With the score 4-2, Everson took down to start the third and got a quick escape to go up 5-2. Everson secured another takedown and finished the match on top, collecting a riding time point to win 8-3. For the third-straight year, the conference championship came down to a dual between Loras and Wartburg. This year’s rendition saw No.8 Loras take No.3 Wartburg to the final match of the night to decide the champion. Trailing by three after nine bouts (19-16) Loras fell short of their Championship quest, dropping the dual 23-16. This is Everson’s first Wrestler of the Week honor and the second for Loras this season.
