The senior went 4-1 overall as he advanced to the championship match by defeating second/third-ranked Mark Choinski of UW-Oshkosh, 11-5. Round 1: Bye Round 2: defeated Frankie Faasen (ACI) by technical fall in 4:29 (19-0). Round 3: defeated Zach Altman (ADCO) by technical fall in 4:38 (17-1). Quarterfinals: defeated Jake Morgan (MIUN) by fall in 3:00. Semifinals: defeated No.2/3 Mark Choinski (UW-Oshkosh) by decision, 11-5. Championship: fell to No.6/4 Anthony Arroyo (Baldwin Wallace) by major decision, 12-3. He also registered a pair of technical falls and one pin. Kerkhoff is now 22-8 on the year and went over 80 wins in his career. This is Kerkhoff’s first Wrestler of the Week award and the first for Buena Vista since December 14, 2008 (Aaron Cook).
