No.2 Wartburg picked up dual wins over NCAA Division II, 25th-ranked Colorado Mesa 23-19 and then-No. 12 North Central 41-3. Match 1: won by 8-2 dec vs #7 Payton Tawater (Colorado Mesa – NCAA Division II) Match 2: won by 15-0 tech fall vs Rafael Roman (North Central College) Cannone ranked No. 1 at 157lbs, recorded his 100th career victory. He remaines undefeated on the season (13-0) and moved his winning streak to 47, which dates back to the NCAA Championship match in 2016. The senior now has 28 career tech fall which is tied for second with Landon Williams on Wartburg’s career leader list. Cannone is a two time All-American, winning the 149lbs. national title in 2018 and finishing runner-up in 2017. This is Cannone’s second career Wrestler of the Week accolade and fifth for the Knights this season.
