Amanda Brainerd Award Female Athlete of the Week Week Of 12/3/2018 Sport American Rivers Conference School Wartburg College Year Junior Position Hometown DeWitt, Iowa High School DeWitt Central Female Athlete of the Week – Women’s Basketball – Player of the Week Amanda Brainerd, Wartburg College Jr., F, DeWitt, Iowa/DeWitt Central Brainerd averaged 13-points, 5.5-rebounds, 1.5-assists and went a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line as No.18/19 Wartburg College picked up conference wins over Simpson and Coe last week. In the Knight’s 83-69 win over Simpson, Brainerd put up 17 points (5-of-8 FG, 1-of-3 3FG, 6-of-6 FT) and snagged three rebounds. The junior forward nearly recorded a double-double with nine points and eight rebounds in Wartburg’s 70-47 win over Coe. Knights have won their last 28 home games and improve to 5-1 on the year. This is Brainerd’s first Player of the Week honor.
