Rylee Andresen Award Defensive Player of the Week Week Of 11/5/2018 Sport Volleyball School University of Dubuque Year Junior Position Hometown Oxford Junction, Iowa High School Midland Volleyball – Offensive Player of the Week Kara Wright, University of Dubuque Jr., OH, Stockton, Ill./Stockton Wright racked up 32 kills in two American Rivers Conference tournament matches, including 20 in the championship match. She also had 23 digs and five blocks in the two matches, helping UD to its first conference title since 1995. As the No.2 seed in the conference tournament UD defeated third-seeded Coe in the semifinals 3-0 and upended top-seeded Wartburg 3-0 in the championship bout. The Spartans also earned the league’s AQ to this year’s NCAA Division III tournament for their first trip in 20 years. It was announced today that the Spartans will travel to the University of Chicago for a first-round match with the Maroons. Wright was recently named the conference’s MVP for the 2018 season.
