High School Mahtomedi Women’s Soccer – Defensive Player of the Week Kennedy Bergren, Luther College So., GK, Mahtomedi, Minn./Mahtomedi Bergren helped lead Luther to a 1-0 regular season victory over Dubuque and 1-0 victory over Coe in round one of the A-R-C Tournament. The sophomore keeper made five saves against Dubuque, including a penalty kick in the 52nd minute that kept the match from going into overtime. She recorded three saves versus Coe. Bergren has had three consecutive shutouts and seven on the year. Luther advanced to the semifinals for the 21st time in the 23-year history of the league tournament. No.3-seeded Luther travels to second-seeded Wartburg on Wednesday, October 31 for an A-R-C tournament semifinal match-up. This is Bergren’s first Defensive Player of the Week award.
