Katie Foster Award Defensive Player of the Week Week Of 10/15/2018 Sport Volleyball School Wartburg College Year Sophomore Position Hometown Charles City, Iowa High School Charles City Volleyball – Defensive Player of the Week Katie Foster, Wartburg College So., Libero, Charles City, Iowa/Charles City Helped Wartburg go 3-1 last week, including two critical league wins. The knights now stand atop the A-R-C standings at 5-1. Last week Foster led the Knights in digs (82) and added 14 assists and three service aces. Wartburg defeated Central, Loras, and UW-Platteville 3-0 last week. In the three wins Foster posted dig totals of 15, 13, and 18 respectively. The Knights lone loss last week came in a five-set thriller against St. Thomas. Foster’s week-high dig total, 42, came against the Tommies. Foster is now a seven-time Defensive Player of the Week (10/15/18, 10/8/18, 9/3/18, 11/5/17, 10/29/17, 9/24/17, 9/3/17). In 2017 Foster was voted the League’s Freshman of the Year.
