High School Wisconsin Heights Male Athlete of the Week – Baseball – Position Player of the Week Will Doherty, University of Dubuque Sr., C, Cross Plains, Wis./Wisconsin Heights Doherty helped the top seeded Spartans claim the program’s first-ever IIAC tournament title and trip to the NCAA Division III baseball tournament. In UD’s three IIAC tournament games Doherty hit .500 (6-for-12) with a double and two triples, driving in four runs and also scoring four runs. Game 1: Dubuque – 11, Luther – 1 (8 innings): 3-for-4, 3-runs, 1-RBI, 1-triple Game 2: Dubuque – 3, Wartburg – 2: 1-for-3, 1-run, 1-RI, 1-triple Game 3: Dubuque – 11, Wartburg – 6: 2-for-5, 2-RBIs, 1-double This is Doherty’s first IIAC Position Player of the Week honor and the third for UD this season.
