High School Westside Female Athlete of the Week – Softball – Position Player of the Week Carlee Guyett, Buena Vista University Fr., C/OF, Omaha, Neb./Westside Guyett hit a team-best .542 (13-of-24) on the week including a team-leading 13 hits as the Beavers went 4-2. The first-year player recorded multiple hits in five of the six games, including a career-high four in game one at Coe on Saturday. Her single game hit total of four is tied for the most by any player during an IIAC game this season. Game 1: Nebraska Wesleyan – 10, Buena Vista – 9: drove in a career-high four RBI while going 2-of-5 at the plate. Game 2: Buena Vista – 7, Nebraska Wesleyan – 3: 2-for-5 at the plate, 2-runs, 1-RBI, 1-double. Game 3: Buena Vista – 4, Coe – 3: led off the game with a double and set a new single-season school record with her 15th of the year. Guyett was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate in game one against Coe. Game 4: Buena Vista – 2, Coe – 0: went 1-for-3 with six putouts. Guyett finished 5-for-8 in the DH against Coe, giving BVU its first sweep of the Kohawks since 2002. Game 5: Buena Vista – 6, Loras – 5: 2-for-4, 1-run, 2-RBI, 1-double. Game 6: Loras – 6, Buena Vista – 1: 2-for-3, 1-RBI, 1-double. Guyett’s 22 hits in IIAC play are currently the most by any IIAC player while her five doubles are tied for second. This is the second time Guyett is earning Female Athlete of the Week and Position Player of the Week honors this season (4/22/18, 3/18/18).
