High School Men’s Basketball – Player of the Week Nate Schimonitz, Nebraska Wesleyan University So., Guard, Omaha, Neb./Creighton Prep Schimonitz averaged 27.5-points, 7.50-assists and 4-rebounds leading the Prairie Wolves to the IIAC Tournament title. He recorded a double-double with 24-points, 10-assists, 1-rebound and 1-steal in NWU’s 94-77 semifinal win over Wartburg. In the Prairie Wolves’ 82-78 Championship win over Central, Schimonitz had 31-points, 7-rebounds, 5-assists and 1-blocked shot. He now leads NWU in scoring at 17.1 points per game and has scored over 20-points in four of the last five games. NWU will play Maryville (TN) in the first-round of the NCAA Division III tournament, with Washington-St. Louis serving as the host school.
