Jasmine Demers Award Player of the Week Week Of 2/11/2018 Sport Women's Basketball School Buena Vista University Year Senior Position Hometown Storm Lake, Iowa High School St. Mary's Women’s Basketball – Co-Player of the Week Jasmine Demers, Buena Vista University Sr., Forward, Storm Lake, Iowa/St. Mary’s Demers averaged 18.5PPG, 9.50RPG, 2.50APG, while adding 3-blocked shots and 1-steal in BVU’s two victories last week. Recorded her eighth double-double of the year in the Beavers 69-56 win against Loras on Saturday which salvaged season-split and kept the team in contention for a fourth-seed in IIAC Tournament. Against the Duhawks Demers totaled 23-points, 10-rebounds, 3-assists and 2-steals. She hit the go-ahead layup with under 10 seconds left against Dubuque on Wednesday which helped lift the team back from a 13-point deficit and seal the win 58-55. Demers scored 14-points against the Spartans, with 10 over those coming in the fourth quarter. She also added 9-rebounds, 2-assists, 1-steal and 1-blocked shot in the win over Dubuque. Buena Vista has won consecutive games for first time in over a month. This is Demers first Player of the Week accolade. Demers was selected second-team All-Iowa Conference last season.
