Sam Holtz Award Field Performer of the Week (Women) Week Of 1/28/2018 Sport Indoor Track & Field School Wartburg College Year Senior Position Hometown Tama, Iowa High School South Tama Women’s Indoor Track & Field – Field Performer of the Week Sam Holtz, Wartburg College Sr., Tama, Iowa/South Tama Holtz helped the Knights to a 2nd place team finish out of 13 at the Jack Jennett UNI Open on Friday, January 26th. Wartburg behind the University of Northern Iowa in the team race with 88.50 points but finished ahead of four NCAA Division I schools. Holtz took 3rd in the weight throw with a mark of 53’ 3.5” (16.24m). Her mark was good for 19th best in NCAA Division III and ranks No.1 in the Iowa Conference. This is Holtz’ first Indoor T&F Field Performer of the Week accolade and Wartburg’s first since February 2, 2017 (Courtney Sowle).
