High School River Valley Male Athlete of the Week – Men’s Indoor Track & Field – Track Performer of the Week Kyle Thomas, University of Dubuque Fr., Spring Green, Wis./River Valley Competed in back to back competitions, on Friday qualifying for the 60-meter final at the UNI Jack Jennett Open then coming back Saturday to win the 60-meter and 200-meter at the UW-Platteville Select Meet. Thomas ran a finals qualifying time of 7.08 in the 60-meter prelim at the UNI Jack Jennett meet. At the UW-Platteville Select his first-place time of 6.94 in the 60-meter was also a new personal best. This 6.94 seconds in the 60-meter ranks 1st in the IIAC and is tied for 7th in all of NCAA Division III. Thomas ran a 1st place 200-meter time of 22.32 at UW-Platteville. He owns the nations second fastest 200-meter time recorded this season at 21.63 (ran on 12/2/2017). This is Thomas’ second Indoor T&F Track Performer of the Week award of his young career (1/28/18, 12/3/17).
