Kyle Smith Award Player of the Week Week Of 12/31/2017 Sport Men's Basketball School Central College Year Senior Position Hometown Grand River, Iowa High School New Hampton Male Athlete of the Week – Men’s Basketball – Player of the Week Kyle Smith, Central College Sr., G/F, Grand River, Iowa/New Hampton Smith was named to the D3hoops.com Classic all-tournament team after the Dutch went 2-0, including a 74-69 upset of No. 6 Ramapo College (N.J.) and a 71-48 victory over Pacific Lutheran (Wash.). He led the Dutch with 32 total points and six made 3-pointers in the two contests. In the victory over No. 6 Ramapo, Smith totaled 20-points, 6-rebounds, 5-assists and 1-steal. Smith recorded 12-points, 4-rebounds and 3-assists in Central’s win over Pacific Lutheran. This is Smith’s first Player of the Week honor. Smith was a second-team All-Iowa Conference performer a season ago.
