High School Men’s Soccer – Defensive Player of the Week Jacob Peterson, Loras College Sr., GK, River Forest, Ill./Fenwick In the Iowa Conference Championship match against Luther, Peterson made seven saves in regulation and added a pair of stops in the penalty kick shootout. Loras claimed the title and advance to the NCAA Division III tournament with a 3-1 penalty kick advantage. The Tournament title was Loras' eighth in program history and Duhawks advanced to NCAA Tournament for 12th time since 2005. Peterson's seven saves on Saturday moved the senior to 84 this season and brings his career total to 217. Prior to Saturday, Loras' last PK shootout win came against Luther in the second round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament. Peterson is now a six-time Defensive Player of the Week honoree (11/5/17, 10/22/17, 9/10/17, 10/30/16, 10/11/15, 9/13/15) He was named first-team All-Iowa Conference goalkeeper in 2016 & 2015.
