Jade Schaap Award Offensive Player of the Week Week Of 10/22/2017 Sport Volleyball School Buena Vista University Year Senior Position Hometown Doon, Iowa High School Western Christian Volleyball - Offensive Player of the Week Jade Schaap, Buena Vista University Sr., OH, Doon, Iowa / Western Christian Schaap posted a team-leading 49 kills for the week as BVU went 4-0 and extended win streak to 10 straight. She turned in her 12th double-double of the year to help lead BVU from 2-0 deficit against Coe to win 3-2 and finish their IIAC regular season schedule at 5-3. Her third kill against Coe made her the program's all-time career leader in kills with 1,818 Schaap ranks 15th nationally in kills/set and now has 1,864 which is the fifth-most among all active DIII players. She also ranked second in digs for the week (50) as her 22 on Senior Night against Martin Luther matched a season-high. This is Schaap’s fourth Offensive Player of the Week honor (10/22/17, 10/16/17, 10/19/14, 10/12/14). Schaap was named IIAC Defensive Player of the Week two weeks ago (10/9/17). In 2014 and 2015 Schaap was an All-Iowa Conference selection. She was named Freshman of the Year in 2014.
